    2022-2023 New Zealand First-Class Draft

http://www.cricketweb.net/forum/conversations/add?to=Kippax Three drafters have submitted bids, six to go. If you've submitted a nice round number in a bid but now want to amend it, I'll let you do that.

*Official* 2022 New Zealand Tour of England, Ireland, Scotland & Netherlands

I do worry sometimes that Rachin's career could track along a Danny Lee (NZ golf) trajectory. It'll probably be a lucrative pro career, but not as good as it maybe could've been. That'll be thanks to men (not necessarily Rachin's family) with pure impatience and business on their minds who...

Yes I noticed the high degree of comfort and control in Macewell's seven boundaries on the video scorecard. https://live.nvplay.com/ecb/#m933d5101-9cf2-4b46-9f37-80c0f449fd0b Quite a few English club and county 2nd XI seasons in him from about 2009-2014 (uncle John's second stint of coaching...

    2022-2023 New Zealand First-Class Draft

I'm getting round numbers in some of the PMs, not quirky enough tbh. Not much time to break ties, so they'll just be separated by a spin in the randomiser.

    2022-2023 New Zealand First-Class Draft

There's still a few hours to vote in the poll, but it's looking like being one big draft, 11-player teams, one English Test player allowed. That player will only gain points in Tests against New Zealand, or in official first-class tour games in New Zealand. The first 18 players will be picked...

Final Vote on NZ First-Class Draft Format

No official tour thread yet, so I'll just post the video scorecard for NZ v Sussex right here. https://live.nvplay.com/ecb/#m933d5101-9cf2-4b46-9f37-80c0f449fd0b

Final Vote on NZ First-Class Draft Format

If it's still tied when the poll has closed, Vandem will have the casting vote. If he's still away from CW on Monday, I'll make a casting vote (by dint of the work I did in past seasons).

*Unofficial* New Zealand Black Caps Thread

Hey look, I think it's infinitely better to be the goofy Xander, the maligned cellar dweller of New Zealand cricket drafts than it is to become a mid-ranking Principal Snyder in them, like Flem274*.

*Unofficial* New Zealand Black Caps Thread

Has Flem finished above about fifth out of nine in all our seasons of first-class drafts? Didn't think so. One can't help but be astonished by the unshakably dogmatic confidence he has in his own powers of intuition, after so many consecutive years of failing to deliver a big W, or even a podium...

Oh I don't think Munro did it because of 'twilight years' btw. That guy just found all the slothful zombies of the regime, people with depressed high school teacher vibes to them, to be a real drag who were ****ing with him. They manage to impede talented T20 players' professional progress with...

*Unofficial* New Zealand Black Caps Thread

He did top the domestic T20 runs chart by over 100, remember, then people were singing his praises on this forum in the early Netherlands tour games. After finding a way to squeeze Rachin into about six T20Is a year after he's been averaging a princely sum of about 14 with the bat in that...

    2022-2023 New Zealand First-Class Draft

It sounds like the upcoming tour games won't necessarily be pursuing a formal first-class status (even though the Sussex one is a £35 daily ticket at the gate!). If that's true, the first Test can become the start of this draft.

    2022-2023 New Zealand First-Class Draft

Ten days before the Sussex tour game starts. All drafters can start giving a few minutes of scrutiny to the May-March schedule in the first post, which players won't be making the T20 World Cup squad and could be cashing in via the Plunket Shield instead, all that type of thinking.

*Unofficial* New Zealand Black Caps Thread

As far as Macewell pushing his own career's barrow goes, I can understand his point of view that he'll be damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. The raw and crappy contracted squad Pocknall has been assembling for him in the last couple of years should've really been captained by someone...

*Unofficial* New Zealand Black Caps Thread

Duffy often struggles when he loses a good bowling coach. Clearly one of these fairly passive and unassertive New Zealanders who probably wouldn't have known if it was appropriate to contact Rob Walter (now an oppo coach) and start taking up his time on him. Possibly quite an easy fix, for all...

*Unofficial* New Zealand Black Caps Thread

Well I doubt Macewell was really picked with the Pakistan tour in mind. It's possible. New Zealand's just getting back into one of those weaker batting phases, where a month of really good form with bat and ball in any format can get you picked on a hunch and a hope. Sort of back to 2014, with...
