    Cricket Books

I vaguely recall Bodyline Autopsy (which is, IMHO, the definitive take on the 32/33 series, by the way) being named CW's book of the decade for the noughties. Did I miss the announcement of the book of the 2010s or are the votes still being counted...? :whistling

    21st Century International Draft - R3

Good get, IMHO. Surprised he went this deep. If I hadn't used my 'Stralian ration I'd have had him a couple of rounds back.

    Australian test selection 2020/21

Yeah, I didn't object to it from my high horse; if he was clearly better than the alternatives (as Smith and Warner obviously are), then happy days. What makes it look slightly funky is that, from the outside looking in, he didn't appear to be. If there are two blokes of broadly similar...

    fastest bowler ever?

I always think speed through the air is a pretty ordinary measurement of a bowler's real quote-unquote "pace". I reckon TV coverage misses a trick by not regularly showing the reaction time a batsman has. They may correlate perfectly, of course, but from watching the time the batsmen seems to...

    Fantasy Premier League 2020/21

Captaining Vardy away at Citeh was a ballsy call. Or was it more or a "CBF changing" type decision?

    21st Century International Draft - R3

Can I pick now or do I have to wait for @trundler ?

    Australian test selection 2020/21

Bancroft's recall was a weird one, yeah. With all the baggage he was carrying his selection did have a bit of a whiff of an "eff you everybody" from Langer. Or maybe it's just because he's a Western Australian. Anyway could barely buy a run in the two tests he got.

RIP Dean Jones, passes away aged 59

Vale. Played one of the greatest innings ever and it's definitely become part of cricket folklore. My first thought was "I didn't even know he was ill", but it's clear he wasn't, or at least it was asymptomatic. It's no ****ing age, is it? Lost my old man suddenly to his heart when he was 51...

    21st Century International Draft - R3

I'll have a go. Think I get the "snake" system, but may need reminding if it's my turn and am blissfully ignorant.

Draft Game - Fantasy Cricket 2020

Toyed with the idea of cutting Faf, but as everything's so up in the air I'm gonna hold fast. Would regret making a change more and it making my XI worse than doing nothing.

    chris tremlett v simon jones

Ha, quite so. Ironic Larwood was nicknamed "Lol" really though as I can't imagine too much laughter coming from yer crims in 32/33.

    chris tremlett v simon jones

It's a tough call because they were both such different bowlers; Jones the skiddier, wicket-to-wicket swing bowler and Tremmers the big, tall, back of a length line bowler. Jonah was quicker, but Tremmers was one of those bowlers who seemed to bowl the near-mythical heavy ball. It was probably...
