*Official* South Africa Test Tour of Zimbabwe 2025

Lost in all this excitement that I noticed was never mentioned was that Mulder scored over 100 runs in back to back sessions. Day 1: Tea to close- 133 to 264 Day 2: Start of Day to Lunch- 264 to 367

Also 329 is further than 367... Whilst in the grand scheme of things it doesn't sound alot there was still 72 odd runs for Clarke to score... Even at a galloping rate he'd still have to go hard in the overs to ensue & that's all taking into equation the other batsman chewing up deliveries...

    Absurdly Awesome Cricket Stats

Jacques Kallis averages 503 in Zimbabwe.

Do you think if an Indian batsman was in this position the 'team' in the dressing room would've told him to declare? Hell nooooooo!!! The big wigs at the BCCI would've sent out a message- Don't even dare.... stay out there! India could've declared waaay earlier against England recently...

When the West Indies finished on Day 2 against England with Lara on 319 not out there was never ...ever.. a single question whatsoever on whether Lara was going to declare before Hayden's 380.... even though they batted the full 2 days Not only that... after Lara broke Hayden's world record...

Yeah I should've been more clearer with that point.. You know what I mean though....

Catch 22 really... When Hayden batted on after bringing up 300 everybody was saying he was just 'running up the score' against horrible bowling & a mediocre team and blah blah blah and it was 'hollow'... (at least to some people) and now the opposite and he gets criticised for it... If...

The amount of records Mulder left out there within touching distance: 1.Most test runs in an innings- 400 2.Most test runs in an innings as captain 3.Most test runs in an innings batting at Number 3 4.Most test runs in an innings consisting of boundaries & sixes- 238 by John Edrich ...

Joe Root nearly with the 'double' of scoring a double century on his 100th test and also debut innings as a captain.. Nearly.

A fair few records broken by South Africans I've noticed in recent times. eg highest score in ODI debut, first batsman to hit 150+ in ODI debut... youngest to hit 150+ in test debut etc etc.

    2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

Depends really.. If he's aiming to breaking Sachin's record he'll have to play until at least 37 ish going on 38 and in that time whilst England do play alot of tests he might bag the record but his average might decline from playing on so long.

    2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

Even another 300 partnership between Brook & Smith would still have England losing by 200 runs anyway.. lol

    2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

Bradman's? Nah! Smith got close when he slammed 4 against India in Australia & then in the last test was dismissed for 71 going for the 5th.

    2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

Pujara with some pearls of wisdom: '' India got three wickets in the first innings when they bowled in the evening and they'll be looking to replicate that and if they do that, then they will have a very good chance of winning tomorrow'' Yeah,no ****.... 3 down at stumps chasing 600 odd on...

    2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

... Well,Dravid's record will go .. Period! Gill subsequently needs 190 runs in the next 3 tests to surpass Gavaskar's total but you never just know when sudden bad form can strike... or India perhaps just batting once in a test or 2 if the English batsman collapse during one of their innings...

    2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

6 English batsman now go into the 2nd innings trying to avoid the dreaded 'pair' Duckett can breathe easily now.First one ticked off... lol

    2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

If England manage to score 396 in this innings it'll be the 2nd most runs scored in total between both teams in aggregate in test match history- 1816.

    2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

How good must Gooch feel knowing his record that he's held for over 30 years + lives on.... just. He'll probably have it for at least another decade or so & the fact that those fools are still out there batting tells you that technically Gill could've scored 470 runs + if he was allowed to.

    2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

... And with that six by Sundar it means India now crosses over 1000 runs in this test match... lol

    2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

Probably booing him because he just fell short of Gooch's match record.... lol
