Is Dale Steyn the worst ever best fast bowler in the world?

This debate is running out of fuel. You think player's opinion are meaningful if they have served the game and I say I don't see how that makes them any less bias. I'll just leave at that. Edit: Pleasures of having the last word eh? I think you were taking a personal jab at me but hey I give up...

Is Dale Steyn the worst ever best fast bowler in the world?

Just to get the "attacking" part clear, you get what you ask for. You trying to suggest my opinion somehow is not worth much because I'm no Viv was a personal jab. So yeah. As far as the argument goes I don't have a problem with your opinion eveybody is entitled to one I'm not trying to change...

Is Dale Steyn the worst ever best fast bowler in the world?

Not surprised at your definition of "class" considering Viv does your thinking for you. Marshall is at best a few decimals apart from Mcgrath if you look at the batsmen they dismissed. Not to mention the different times they played in with different rules. Hell even if you don't take those thing...

Is Dale Steyn the worst ever best fast bowler in the world?

Where in my posts did you hear me say otherwise?

Is Dale Steyn the worst ever best fast bowler in the world?

Except I don't rate players based on how they look on TV I rate them based on their records. If your incapable of thinking for yourself and prefer to bandwagon than that's your business.

Is Dale Steyn the worst ever best fast bowler in the world?

Not that I care but no way does Ambrose beat out Warne in these sort of lists. In fact I have never read about Ambrose being all that great to watch from many people. He is more like Mcgrath. Tbh I think Warne would top the 90's list actually.

Is Dale Steyn the worst ever best fast bowler in the world?

These who ex-players/cricket writers rate higher are some of the most annoying arguments ever. They are biased like everybody else in the sense that they always pick the players that looks good on the eyes. Hell I would rather watch Anderson bowl over Mcgrath. Doesn't mean anything.

Is Dale Steyn the worst ever best fast bowler in the world?

No he didn't. If Steyn can still average 22 after struggling with left-handers then he is the best bowler ever against right-handers by a fair margin. No way was he a class above Mcgrath or even Ambrose. Not even close.

Ranking Nations in terms of producing Batsmen and Bowlers

Yes I agree England really did fall behind of Australia with that 2 decades of mediocrity period from the early 80's to early 2000's. Though it probably didn't help much having to play the most of the games against the ATG Australian team in the latter decade. I got the feeling that we were...

Ranking Nations in terms of producing Batsmen and Bowlers

Oh please sir humor me which part? So do you believe that using 10-15 of your best players is an accurate way to tell you have been providing majority of good players for 80+ years of cricket? Because that is what I would consider really, really stupid. Really stupid.

Ranking Nations in terms of producing Batsmen and Bowlers

The fact that you would reply to me with an infantile rant means I hit a nerve and you know there is truth to what I was saying. Have you ever looked at your team's results since the dawn of their playing days because it doesn't seem like it: Team records | Test matches | Cricinfo Statsguru |...

Ranking Nations in terms of producing Batsmen and Bowlers

Long term wise no they are not. They produced mostly mediocre players in their early years and does so right now. They had good/great middle years but that's exactly my point. And tests played is not a wise argument as even players they produced in the 70's and 80's play significantly less...

Ranking Nations in terms of producing Batsmen and Bowlers

West Indies are neither 1 or 2 in any department overall. That's why they have been crap for so many years. And they weren't just bad these last couple of years they were crap for a while in their beginning years too. Unless a magic portion was invented when I wasn't looking that prevents...

    Has Tim Southee "arrived"?

I am not saying they were green seamers at all. All I said was these weren't as flat of a pitch as its being made out to be. That doesn't mean I'm saying they were easy conditions for bowling though. Colombo wasn't a road. In the game you played against SA in Dunedin last year in which Southee...

    Has Tim Southee "arrived"?

These arguments about conditions being helpful and non helpful conditions based on what country you are playing in are some of the weakest ever. I feel like most people that do that just sterotype rather than actually watching that series. Seriously just because pitches happened to be flat for...

    **Official** Ponting Tribute Thread

One of my saddest days as a cricket fan. It's funny I don't ever really feel that sad seeing players from my own team go maybe due to the fact we have became so succumbed to producing mediocre players over the last 3 decades that I never hold that much hope for them to last long . But...

Pick your NZ bowlers/all-rounders for SA

Kind of harsh on McCullum there not to have on on the first choice XI aren't you? NZ players having a few bad series is nothing new. Guptil I understand but McCullum has been one of the team's more consistent performers career wise.

    The Case for Kallis

Sorry I thought you were agreeing with kyear2. Just to be fair I don't think Richrads couldn't assess the situation and change his play, Just saying if you really wanna stereotype you can do it for both players. What I'm also finding it hard to understand is how he can say Sehwag can't be...

    The Case for Kallis

Well you would be disappointed to find out I did see Richrads play in the later part of his career. And he did throw his wickets away from time. I was young back then so I didn't really understand about assessing the situation but I remember my dad commenting on it who was watching it live with...

    The Case for Kallis

Steyn, Donald, Rhodes were great to watch though that's the point. I know people have a soft spot for players that are good to watch but there are plenty of not so good to watch players that play for countries like India, Pakistan, England, Australia that gets hyped up. And they don't have to...
