The Bunny has found a pretty decent lead, I think holding second will be a fair effort now!

Scoring changes for knock-out stages

You're all too keen!

Right, to keep things fresh & interesting I'm going to introduce two new ways of scoring points. We're keeping the original method:

Spot-on prediction: 10 points

1-7 points out: 5 points

8-14 points out: 3 points

Correct outcome: 1 point

NB: no points for incorrect tip, regardless of narrowness of result.
But now I also want you to predict the total number of tries scored in each game (that's the tries scored by both teams combined) and the first try scorer too. Bonus points scored like so:

Total number of tries correct: 5 points
1 try out: 3 points
2 tries out: 1 point

First tryscorer correct: 5 points
Predicted tryscorer scores a try that isn't the first try: 1 point

So if you nail the correct outcome, points margin, first tryscorer & total number of tries you can get yourself 20 points. Fixtures:

Saturday, 06 October 2007
Australia v England
New Zealand v France

Sunday, 07 October 2007
South Africa v Fiji
Argentina v Scotland

So for the first game, say you might go:

Australia by 15
First tryscorer: Mortlock
Total number of tries: 6

Stunningly simple.

Harsh new system here. I know six players at this cup and four of them have names that end in -shvili.

Nevertheless...

Australia to beat England by 17
First try scorer: Mitchell (Aus)
Tries: 4

New Zealand to beat France by 24
First try scorer: Rokocoko (NZ)
Tries: 5

South Africa to beat Fiji by 30
First try scorer: Qera (Fij)
Tries: 6

Argentina to beat Scotland by 12
First try scorer: Borges (Arg)
Tries: 3
