If Australia win the World Cup and defeat the All Blacks and/or South Africa on the way, i think that'd be enough to prove they most certainly aren't a poor test side.

When Australia have a scrum I'll respect them.

I know...there's a fairly good reason for that...they're much weaker

Smarter though, and refs just aren't willing to ping them.

Yep. Shepherdson & Dunning definitely pulled a fast one in the last Oz/NZ game. Very cute, but it's seriously weak refereeing to let them get away with it. It must've been a full half-hour before there was a properly set scrum in that game.

Mind you, Oz have something of a history in this respect. Baxter & Young nearly conned Watson into giving Oz the last WC. I'm just so pleased we won because (aside from the obvious) it means we can legitimately moan about the piss-poor reffing without it looking like sour grapes.

Lets be honest - youd struggle to name an average Australian scrum, the current one is an absolute embarrasment!!!

When the last time Australia had a good scrum though, during the last World Cup the scrum was a joke too and they still won games. If Australia is a poor Rugby team, what does it say about the rest of the sides in World Rugby outside NZ and South Africa. Its not like any of the rest are much better, if at at all.

You make it sound like the scrum is the single defining factor in whether a team is poor or not. Sure the scrum is definetly the weakest facet of the Wallabies game, but by no means does that make them a poor side.

I agree with you, but a solid scrum is the basis of an attackking side. Australia are just lucky they have a very good lineout to make up for their scrumming deficiencies.
