I really hope Henry gets this midfield problem sorted out. The midfield and our habit of capitulating at line-out time are our only real weaknesses, IMO. The problem seems to be that Conrad Smith is too damn injury prone & will probably never be a consistent option at centre, while Isaia Toeava is in over his head. I don't think this squad will ever have a great line-out & it looks like the mid-field combo won't settle, either.

With Aaron Mauger as the preferred at 12 then I don't think Conrad Smith will get too many chances at centre, especially paired with Mauger. You really need a big guy who can break the tackle and cart the ball forward in the midfield, unless we decided to use Sivivatu or Rokocoko more to punch it up on midfield.

Ah, so it is. Pronounced as a 'y' isn't it? I can't for the life of me remember his midfield partner though, but apparantly they form a pretty damn good partnership.

Jauzion usually plays 12 and Fritz 13 but they do switch around a bit

To even suggest that O'Driscoll and Mortlock are passed it is ridiculous, as Stirling Mortlock has been one of Australia's and the Brumbies finest in recent years, while O'Driscoll holds together the Irish backline. Granted I haven't seen much of Fritz but from what I hear he is much better than Toeava, as is Jaque Fourie.

Compelling arguments.

Who carved up our midfield last year in an Irish jersey? That's right - O'Driscoll. And who has been the biggest fly in our ointment when playing Australia? Mortlock. And I don't see him being any less difficult to control this year. Toeava has the potential to be very, very good, but his hands and his overexuberance on defence are big sticking points at the moment. It's over-excited cheerleaders like yourself that put pressure on the poor young fella.

i would say its people that wont let him forget the mistakes he made as a 19 year old that put the mockers on him.

Dont know what tests you were watching but we werent carved up the middle
Also done know about the first test, but the second had Laulala at centre. Lets be honest, my Grandmother could carve up Laulala
