Look, it's really very simple. As a form of expressive art, I just don't find the haka interesting in the slightest, though I recognise it as an important part of Maori culture.

As a bit of pre-game pageantry I consider it silly and boring. But obviously I'm just one person and my opinions and beliefs are as subjective and flawed as anyone else's. If you love the haka full power to you. Just to try avoid making insinuations about my attitudes towards Maori when I pop into the kitchen to make a cup of tea before the haka tomorrow morning.
    Enough said I guess.

I apologise for stating you mustn't like Maori culture that was a bit antagonistic of me looking back at my post.

All for now - Kia Kaha (joke)

    Post Script

I have very different attitudes towards the Haka and do see it as linked to Maori Culture. I have never bothered to think whether it is commercialised before. You seem to see the haka and Maoridom as seperate entities. Or more seperate than I do at least.

I like all hakas. I like all things to do with emotion.

I have faced the eyes of Texas before a rugby game - which is a pre game song that U of T perform and it is designed to intimidate, and it works. They had the edge on us for the first 5 minutes of the game. The issue for me is that I don't agree the opposition should just have to sit there and take it on the chin.

My home club once when faced by a touring NZ team who did a haka were completely blown away so thinking quicky on the spot they joined hands and did "ring a ring a rosie". To this day it has stayed as a club tradition.

Where am I going with this? Enjoy your cup of tea tomorrow...and apologies again.
    1) Ross is Boss.
    2) See point 1.

Leading the charge against nuances being used in posts.

Overrated XI M Bracewell, Burns, Rahane, Don Voges, Bairstow, Alecz Day, Donovan Grobelaar, Luke Ronchi, Faulkner, Dan Christian, Permaul

No problems, I was more than a little inflammatory with my first post so I can't really complain that you got a bit riled up by it.

Agreed. We do have the Maori culture and apart from that in the 1980s Barry Crump's book created a bit of Kiwiana around a good keen bloke.

We have very few of our own sayings that Australia does not also have.

After hearing about 10 of her songs and hating all of them I landed on Buzzcut Season and it's amazing.

I love the haka. I think we should ditch our national anthem and do the haka twice.
Anyone that doesn't like the haka is generally a boring or an overly psychotic person. Anecdotal evidence but 100% right.

The New Zealander are a wonderful culture of people.they have a very small population and yet they have a top class sporting section ,they are world class in many sports including,Rugby (both codes),cycling,Hockey (men & women) swimming,& womens netball, cricket, ....per capita they are one of the strongest sporting nations in the world, just about equal with Australia.

GOOD LUCK TO THE KIWIS IN ALL SPORTS.
AUSTRALIANS ALL LET US REJOICE,FOR WE ARE 1-2-3
