World champions being dominated. Hugely impressed with these Welsh half-backs.

Bloody hell.

Seriously good work from the Leekists. Warburton has been immense, ruling the breakdown.

Have to point out that they look better now they have some English blood in the team: Warburton, North, Lydiate, Charteris, etc.

The welsh back row is having a stormer the number 7 is giving one of the most complete performances you are likely to see absolutely dominating the breakdown. Only Burger standing up for South Africa.

And that's that. Wales just not quite clinical enough in the end, must be ruing taking the extra couple of minutes to get started.

Sickener for the Leekists. Really turned up today. Encouraging signs for the Samoa and Fiji games tho.

Its pretty difficult to kick at the Cake Tin, the wind swirls so you're never really sure as a goalkicker; I don't think the blame should lie with Hook at all. Interested to have another look at one of his first half penalties which looked like it went through the posts but was deemed not to by the assistant referees.

South Africa really got out of jail, for large parts of the second half I was sure that Wales were about to cause the first upset of the tournament. As I had predicted, South Africa's replacements in Bismark and Houggard were a huge improvement on Smit and Habana, and both had key roles in ensuring they got the victory. Will be a bit of a concern that Matfield and de Villiers both had to leave the field with injuries, particularly with Botha already out for a while.

Yeah, I was pretty sure that went through.

That was a thrilling game. A pity Wales couldn't quite get over the line.

Gunnest game.

Loving how all the games have been pretty tight so far, whether just in certain stages or for the entirety of the match like tonight.

Very harsh on Wales you'd have to say by that kick that went through not being awarded. Surely it makes sense to use the TMO in cases like this.

Looked a great atmosphere at the ground, and a fantastic game as others have said.

Heres the kick in question:
Wales penalty kick against South Africa RWC 2011 - YouTube

Really tight, all depends on when the ball started to swing back in as to whether the right call was made.

Seems like this is happening more and more though doesn't it with big tournaments where the TMO isn't being used to its full effect. Football World Cup last year, and now Rugby World Cup this year where big wrong decisions have changed the course of matches. Surprised Gatland was as calm as he was post match.

Wales were off-side by the way the refs had been calling it in the other matches pretty much every single ruck.

Terrrrrrrrible refereeing all round in this match.

At least it was consistent though.
