A real simple prediction game: just name the Winner and Runner-up for each group.

Two points for each correct prediction; one point for getting the right team but in the wrong spot.

Like this (winner first, runner-up second):

Group D: France, Denmark
Group E: Spain, Japan
Group F: Belgium, Croatia
Group G: Brazil, Switzerland

Best to get in early, but to allow as many people as possible to join in I'd want to be flexible.

How about an hour before kick-off of the first match in each group?

i.e., if someone didn't see this before Group A started, they could join in with all their predictions for Group B onward, etc.?

We'll start getting results from today on; I'll try to post updates each day.

Is anyone up for doing the knock-out stages as well? I'd want to do something low-maintenance, keep it simple. Maybe points for correctly calling the winner, bonus points for getting the correct scoreline. I don't know how best to factor in extra-time and PKs; maybe a set of options like:

Canada v Qatar : 1-0 Canada win
or
Canada v Qatar : 1-0 Canada win aet
or
Canada v Qatar : 0-0 Canada win on PKs

So you'd get say 3 points for a Canada win whatever, plus 3 bonus for getting the exact score. Something like that, anyway?

I forgot to look for this sort of thing but I'd have been out on a few as I expected Wales to get through and Belgium to qualify as group winners. Also had Korea down to knock out Uruguay and Ghana with Senegal to win their group too and they might not even qualify as Ecuador look a far better side than I expected them to.
