Also great that J Carter, L Carter, Kelly and R O'Donnell had excellent seasons, after I posted at the start of the season that they were now in their mid-late twenties and hadn't pushed on.

Leo Carter has had couple of good seasons now. Both the O'Donnell brothers have been very good this season.

Yes he has, though always a little sceptical of the specialist batsman that bats 5 or 6 for his FC side - the Tom Bruce disclaimer.

Should move up the order next season, certainly when Latham/Nicholls/Mitchell unavailable anyway.

Was having a look at the RCB videos on youtube. No sight of Finn Allen, saw plenty of Kyle, Maxwell, Dan Christian in the training and practice matches but no sight of Finn Allen anywhere. Is he still under quarantine?

Read In the preview for the game that Allen was still in quarantine. Wasn't that why the IPL guys left early vs bangers? Allen didn't do assume he's not available.

We never really think much of the coaches do we? Peter Fulton turned around the fortunes of Canterbury cricket in just one year. Canterbury last year were easy beats, this year they were near unbeatable in red ball cricket. If this was NBA a movie will be made on Canterbury and two meter Peter.

Well they were a Devon Conway away from getting the threepeat! He definitely deserves a lot of credit, was a gutsy call to leave the BC's batting coach gig, but it's paid off.

Rob Walter off to coach CD.

You beat me to it... just read that on stuff. The coaches are swapping centers of late. Malan going to Aces and now Walter to CD. I think Walter did a reasonable job with Volts. He picked some players that other centers wouldn't probably interested in and they have delivered to a certain extent.

I suspect the coaching/commentating climber Craig Cumming (lot of Cs there) will be eyeing up the Otago role.

Watching IPL highlights Kyle is getting absolutely smashed. Hope he's not going to turn up in UK with no confidence and lost rythm.

Got three wickets including the crucial one of Gill. They seem pretty happy with him on social media. The fact they have had their best ever start to the IPL probably helps too.

So he's replacing Aldin Smith, who I have just realised is also from South Africa.

If Cumming takes over as coach he will likely be coaching his son pretty soon.

Since Bruce Edgar and Glenn Pocknall there have been 6 players named in the black caps side across all formats from the firebirds side. Heard the CEO say that in the awards ceremony recently.

Hamish Bennett, Jimmy Neesham, Devon Conway, Tom Blundell, Finn Allen, Rachin Ravindra

Sure apart from Blundell and Ravindra the rest came from other centers but it's quite an achievement. I can't remember when last we had 6 players from town in the black caps squad.

This is about the time when all MAs will start working at new contracts. Do expect few movements across all teams. I guess Firebirds are in a reasonably good shape in white ball cricket but something needs to be done about the red ball side.

Need replacements for Bennett, Conway, Blundell, Ravindra and even probably Newton. Newton has barely played much for firebirds this season and chances are he may just settle to play white ball cricket.

I'm thinking Nick Greenwood, Josh Finnie, Josh Clarkson, Michael Rippon should be good to get but not sure if we have that many contracts to offer. I'd definitely would like to see both the Josh's come to Wellington. Or get some guys that are not getting enough game time such as Ashok from Auckland, Christian Leopard from CD.

Adam Milne is not contracted anymore with CD so might be a chance to lure him to firebirds side considering Milne lives in Wellington.

I'm guessing there will definitely be changes at least one or two if not three. Not great time just after season for players that were in the fringes or offer limited resource. Effectively you're losing a job when dropped off a contract and it's quite hard to come back in.

Probably for next season's thread but CBF creating it. Big loss coming up for one of the associations and a solid gain for another, in the form of a player.
