Blackcaps Team News

Blackcaps Corner

Blackcaps are getting ready to face Scaly Piscine CC in just about 8 hrs time. Interestingly this match will be the inaugural match for the CW FTP Championship II. The players from both the camps are looking confident to start of winning note. Blackcaps, who are out of form at the moment are working hard in the nets to face the tight encounter against Scaly Piscine CC.

Blackcaps coach "Raghav" feels the team are doing well in the nets. He adds "Well, we played well last season. If you want me to repeat I would say, We played well beyond our potential :). It would be a difficult season for us as most of the players are out of touch at the moment. We enter this competition again as a Dark Horse as was like in the 1st Championship. We need to heavily rely on players like Nye, Brown & Walkey. They need to lead the side with their experience. We expect this season to go well and wish we protect our Div 1 position."

Player to Watch for Blackcaps: Christopher Walkey

Flat pitch, decent start could be better.

Jaffna Jets looking to score above 330 now. 272 in 42 overs... well made century from. I do not know why BEST Indians played only one spinner in this ODI. It costed well for that team.

On flat pitchs all bowler struggle, so it doesn't really matter what type they are. Can't see us scoring 330, but you never know.

End of over 50 (8 runs) - Jaffna Jets(340-3) RR 6.80
S. Ariyadasa 90 (79b) , S. Kularatne 1 (1b) , N. Blades 10-0-57-2

126 runs scored in the last 15 overs, fair effort that. Will take some chasing I reckon.

Decent start, 0/21 after 3 overs. He's play four spinners opposed to my two. It's dry and windy so the conditions suit him.

****. Just lost my best batsmen :(

First wicket for the defending champions...

3.4 W Moylan to Ridgway : A straight ball hit's him in line, the finger is slowly raised.
R. Ridgway lbw b. N. Moylan 8 (12b 0x4 0x6) SR:66.67

Allrounding spinner takes one with the 22nd ball of the game. Feeling fairly confident, though MM does have some excellent batsmen.
