Your openers certainly proved that chucking the new ball to a spinner doesn't really work any more.

Two doosras in one over
18.2 W Newstead to Ngwale : [Doosra] Ngwale is fooled by the doosra there and loses his off stump. H. Ngwale b. W. Newstead 26 (25b 0x4 2x6) SR:104.00 18.6 W Newstead to Odhiambo : [Doosra] Odhiambo advances, misreads the spin and is comprehensively stumped. J. Odhiambo st R. Britt b. W. Newstead 0 (4b 0x4 0x6) SR:0.00 End of over 20 (1 runs) - Swamibapa CC(97-4). 190 runs required from 30 overs. RR 4.85 RRR 6.33 G. Saitoti 0 (5b) , H. Bulinya 19 (29b) , N. Moylan 5-0-23-0 Should win from here, new ball period over. Oh, and I wonder whether any loss by Scaly Piscine CC will ever be "plausible" (or a win "wtf" for that matter) |

112-run win.
Swamibapa CC Dynamo Morpork Batting - Top Order: 4,373 5,525 Batting - Middle Order: 3,588 4,422 Batting - Tail: 2,874 3,410 Bowling - Seam: 3,945 (8) 4,041 (2) Bowling - Spin: 3,713 (2) 5,469 (8) Fielding/Keeping: 4,378 5,366 Overall: 73,093 92,033 Better ratings than Scaly, but that's a) due to a training update b) due to playing an allrounder instead of my best seam bowler. Oh, and table Code:
Dynamo Morpork 2-0 4 +2.11 Otago 2-0 4 +1.26 Blackcaps 2-0 4 +0.64 Jaffna Jets 1-1 2 -0.31 Central Districts 1-1 2 -0.61 Zero Pillars 0-2 0 -0.25 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Swamibapa 0-2 0 -1.14 ------------------------------- Scaly Piscine 0-2 0 -1.78 Last edited by Samuel_Vimes; 22-05-2008 at 10:30 AM. |

Yea of my best bowlers 4 of them are all-rounders. That'll change when I promote some youths tho - got like 3 capable-reasonables there, 2 have skilled (bowling) talent, 1 of those has new ball bowler talent (they're both spinners tho). The other guy is a FM with dreadful power but safe hands and old ball bowler which are quite nice.
Still have to promote my reliable-reasonable bat too. Will promote someone when I get a bid on a reasonable-average 24yo medium pacer - they've not just popped this week or anything unlike the guys I usually list.

I've got my fingers crossed that the Curse of Battrick/From the Pavillion etc. etc. etc. strikes BEST Indies rather than Scaly this week otherwise I've got absolutely no chance. My team is improving nicely, but is still about as good as a Steve Harmison opening delivery on the first morning of an Australian tour.
As a matter of interest, what's the highest rated player that you've got out there. My top is about 26k, but he's only: Form reasonable Fatigue satisfactory Experience average Captaincy ordinary Endurance average Training Bowling Batting poor Bowling average Technique ordinary Power poor Keeping average Fielding average Which isn't the best mix really... Not much use having a bowler who can keep!!
