See this is why i wanted knockout, so many new people signing up or seeing this thread for the first time. If we had a knockout, we could have just went 8 person knockout then 16 if we had enough. But eh.

Could just do a dodgy rankings thing, give the eight teams who played this week a ranking from one to eight, if you beat a higher-ranked team you assume their rank and vice versa. That way we can just add new teams as they come in by adding extra ranks. This season's cup won't count for much anyway, I'd rather wait till next season and do it properly.

2) To accept, go to "home" and "challenges". You might get a notice in the top menu about it, too. My youth team is carving up. 139-run win and 14-over win in quick succession. It might be because 5 of them have ordinary technique already, and 3 of them average endurance.

Good enough for me, Gundry Cup officially overthrown.
Preliminary rankings (the first 8) determined using the Darren Murphy Random Number Generator, but the results of today's matches will be counted (I haven't checked them yet) so they'll change in a minute. Anyone who wants in add your team name. Anyone who wants out remove your team name. 1. Central Districts 2. caves_beachcc 3. Male Models 4. Asterix XI 5. Zero Pillars and Hero Fillers 6. Wheelabarrowback 7. Otago 8. The Winners 9. [Hakon's team] 10.Saggers Mob 11. 12. 13. 14. etc I'll add some rules later. Last edited by Adamc; 18-10-2007 at 07:20 AM. |

Asterix XI defeated Otago by 26 runs
Wheelabarrowback defeated Zero Pillars and Poor Fillers by 5 wickets caves_beachcc defeated Male Models by 2 runs New rankings are: 1. The Winners 2. caves_beachcc 3. Male Models 4. Asterix XI 5. Wheelbarrowback 6. Zero Pillars and Hero Fillers 7. Otago 8. Central Districts 9. [Hakon's team] 10.Saggers Mob 11.Jaffna Jets 12. 13. 14. etc Rules: 1. Each team must play at least one friendly a week. There are two friendly slots per week (I think) so you can play more if you wish, but you don't have to. 2. You can challenge any team up to three places higher than your own. 3. You can't play a higher-ranked team for more than two consecutive matches (unless you're last). 4. You can't play the same team in consecutive matches. 5. If any of the above rules are breached you drop, say, four places. I have no idea if that will work or not, as obviously not everyone is going to be able to play a higher-ranked team. Amendments to the rules by people smarter than me are welcome. Exceptions to the above rules are made for friendlies already arranged for next week (those results will stand regardless of current rankings) and if there is an odd number of teams (although with two friendlies per week that shouldn't be a problem either). The winner will be whoever's in first after the last friendly of the season (or whenever we decide to stop). Last edited by Adamc; 18-10-2007 at 08:54 AM. |
