I'm already looking forward to this.
Who's thinking of going?
I wouldn't mind spending an extended Summer holiday over there in 2012.
I think the Poms will do a swell job of hosting it.

I'd love to go, it'll be just after I graduate so it would be awesome to go on a nice big overseas trip that included being there.
Whether it's affordable or not is the big question though.
Right in my backyard, so am considering it. Brits need help to fill up a handball hall apparently.

Yeah, might watch it.

I'd put you up Smitteh but I live a long way from London! Shame that, could be money to be made from these Games for the southerners. People made a fortune out of us hosting The Open up the road a couple of years back.
Looking forwards to them, might try and get down for some of the Athletics but I imagine tickets will be hard to come by
I'm just saying
RIP Craigos. A true CW legend. You will be missed.
Yeah, it's a great idea really

I will be having a look at volunteering to be part of it somewhere, I think.

From the London 2012 site:
Recruitment will start in 2010. We’ll recruit volunteers from across the UK – from a range of communities and backgrounds. Our recruitment process will be transparent, open and fair. Our goal is to select applicants who meet our criteria and who will bring passion, enthusiasm and energy to the Games. Previous volunteering experience is not necessary.
We’ll give each successful applicant a specific role, allowing them to contribute meaningfully to the Games. There will be two kinds of Games volunteer – specialist and generalist.
Specialist volunteers will have specific existing skills or qualifications that are needed for them to complete the role – for example, sport or medical training.
Generalist volunteers will not need any special skills or qualifications and will receive full training. They might be given roles in areas such as event services, uniform distribution and Village operations.
Have signed myself up on the site, let's see what happens...
I'm very interested in volunteering to do something at 2012, and if I can't do that then I'm definately going to watch as much of it as I can afford live.
I really hope its going to be awesome, but I also have a nagging doubt that something will go horribly wrong. I'm sure many Aussies, Greeks and Chinese experienced similar doubts before they hosted the games, and they were proved wrong so hopefully the same will happen in 2012.
