Yeah, think one of the ones I saw was a Pakistani athlete. Obviously they're thrilled to be there, and rightfully so. I just know I'd feel slightly agreived if I was losing by that margin though

I saw a Kiribati athlete about 20 metres behind in one of the 100m men's heats. Why bother, I say...

Was the biggest race in his career to date though, imo.

Bronze for Australia in the 20km walk, but Tallent apparently isn't happy with the winner. Sort of makes him sound like a bit of a poor loser, but then all the bannings etc. surrounding the winner and his coach sort of make you wonder. http://www.foxsports.com.au/beijing_...014107,00.html

Tamsyn Lewis got dropped in the 800m semi and finished dead last. Perhaps she should STFU in the future?

Bolt impressive again. No false start in that semi either, which I found quite astonishing.

The slowest 100m result was Shanahan Sanitoa, of American Samoa, who clocked 12.60 seconds in Heat 5. My PB is 12.32...

Impressive 20.56 in Vili's first attempt in the women's shotput final, 2m ahead of the nearest rival so far.

Think you tend to need a little more than 21 to win. Belarusians have tended to make that recently.

Definitely. But she's certainly started well. 20.40 second attempt, no others have hit 20 yet.

Should be a great final. Means I'll have a short night in bed but it'll be worth it.

Vili still leading in the shotput with that first attempt, in the second to last round now...
