Wow, a Melbourne based paper having a crack at Sydney.
What a surprise.

I reckon the closing ceremony was great, the opening choreography with the circles and drums was brilliant. The poms ruined it though, genuine WTF moment. Only good thing about it was Page but then they put him together with some crappy reality tv show winner and David Beckham?? Horrible.

What was Beckham doing at the closing ceremony? Or was it part of the 2012 handover, if so it makes sense I guess as he is like the ambassador for those Olympics, or something

Yeah was part of the handover.
The English part was so pathetic. Out of some ridiculous transforming bus was... Leona Lewis, who proceeded to butcher 'Whole Lotta Love' with Page. Then out of nowhere comes Beckham, who kicks a ball into the crowd. Down on the ground there's "multicultural" dancers (meaning there was 3 black guys) with umbrellas. |

Was Page sweating enough? Good lord.
Enjoyed the closing ceremony overall though, but expected a slightly better flame-extinguishing bit. Last edited by _Ed_; 24-08-2008 at 10:37 PM. |
