How come Neil is allowed a bigger avatar than anyone else?

Just been looking at the post-counts, and something occurred to me that I've never noticed before.
Neil's avatar is a bit wider than myself, Liam, Rik, Eddie, Reuben and some others!
Why?
Is it simply a Privelage of some sort, or has Neil been meddling with the rules?
I know for certain that my avatar is of the maximum diameter (and it wouldn't be too difficult to work-out anyway, given that everyone who I've listed is exactly the same size, either width or length).
So how does he do it?

Congrats, you're the first person who's noticed that.

Simply put, the avatar size restrictions were introduced in early/mid-2003, and my avatar dates from the Rawlinson Senior House Play of November 2002. It's not changed since then, and if I did change it, the size limit would apply.

In what way? Nothing stopped the other early members from keeping their originals.

Who really cares?

If worrying about the size of an avatar is your biggest problem in life you have it easy.

I'm not overtly bothered, it was just something I spotted and I decided I'd ask.
It's not the biggest problem in my life, believe me.
