National anthems
What national anthems do you especially like listening to ?
My favourite by a distance is the Russian/Soviet national anthem. Other ones I like are those of Sri Lanka's , France and India. If Australia changed their national anthem to Men at Work's 'the Land Down Under", I'd probably have that as a favourite as well.

I used to know everyword to South Africa's national anthem, and I'm not South African, I guess I heard it heaps so it stuck in my head.
I like the French one. The Argentine and Uruguayian anthems are so long and boring. Maybe if I understood Spanish it would help.

Me and a friend of mine got in trouble at a school assembly once. while everyone else was singing the Aussie national Anthem, We just started singing (extremely Loudly) "Star Spangled Banner"
They were going to make us stand up in front of the entire year level and sing the national Anthem, but in the end we just got a warning.

Nkosi'sikelele Afrika (sp?!) is class.., think the whole shebang is in three languages (English, Venda(?) and Afrikaans) in a country with 10 official languages.. I only know the Venda bit which is the most famous bit...
France have a good anthem as well.. Here is a teaser, is the UK National Anthem the only one that changes its words depending on the time?
