True, although Rome wasn't too bad, lots of insane emperors (one even gave his horse a high ranking position in the senate) and wars to keep me interested, and the lecture about the plague in Europe history was interesting too.

Egypt was shocking though.

Nice thread..

Just got back from Somerset's Twenty20 match against Northants.. Couldnt wait to see Van Jaarsveld bat and I was rewarded with a cracking innings and a home win at the same time.. I like the bloke, hes fast becoming my fave and I think he should get a big chance for SA

Last semester I did Ancient Rome, Ancient Egypt (really boring, never paid attention in lectures, but somehow managed to scrape a C in the exam) and Europe 1400-1700.
ooh , might sound really boring . But really history is one of my fav subjects at school , i always seem to score my highest in that, and i hardly do much work but listen a lot so that seems to get me through real well.. But Roman history sounds exiciting like you said.

So what are you planning on doing after the course, archaeology? i mean what job field ..

Ahh good win for Somerset there.. you are right Jaarsveld is a future for S.African cricket , shows a lot of promise , hes proved himself well at tests but he hasnt done nothing much in ODIs when he got his opportunities.. surely will get more chances. And great win by my Hampshire over Kent Shane Watson is God 97 not out in 68 balls , the man deserved his century ! and Mascarehenas and Udal did quite well too holding up the good total...

Mom cooking kheer today for lunch, the best Indian sweet IMO. Then going out with friends for a movie, most probably Troy. Also, dinner with parents at San's Sizzlers, my favorite restaurant.

Ah, I LOVE food.

I disagree.

I actually found them pretty interesting. So did Ancient Greece.

It makes your life easier when you read a novel on Sparta (Ancient Greece).

Otherwise known as Hellas back then.

hee hee hee, Caligula was an insane one .

He made his horse a minister , "slept" with it , his sis , married the most loosest woman in all of Rome , and generally ****ed off all his senators by sending their wives to work in a brothel .
