The fact that zorax has failed to respond in over two hours despite posting elsewhere on the forum is an admission on his part that I'm right and he has finally acknowledged he truly has no culinary idea at all.

    Finally.

Fun fact - HKers are big fans of pasta. We've adopted it into our local cuisine. You get some mean spaghetti dishes at every corner here. Worth checking out if you're in town.
Haha nah. Some brainiac clearly just decided to cross out "noodles" on all their menus and replace with "spaghetti", and all the idiotic residents fell for it.

On the subject of rice and the disproportionate Asian hype (and I know I have mentioned this before), but "Chicken Rice/Chicken Rice Balls" are just...massively mediocre.

I was told by everyone I met in Malaysia how great it was/they were. Was actually quite hyped when I went to supposedly the best town in the country for them. Turns out it is rice that is cooked in water in which chicken has also been cooked (and then shaped into a ball).

It's not that it is bad or anything. But it is rice with a (very) slight chickeny taste.

I enjoy the Malaysian version of English though. So many words that are just written phonetically e.g. Restoran instead of Restaurant, and Teksi instead of Taxi.

The best though was how everyone pronounced paradigm as "parra-diggum". No wonder such fools are easily duped into thinking mediocre cuisine is great.

From what I can tell there is also some rivalry between Malaysia and Singapore re: who invented chicken rice. I have watched two people have a very heated debate about it.

But... just calm down. It's rice cooked in stock. Who the **** cares who invented it, it's not like it's a time machine ffs. It was probably "invented" when someone knocked the family pet into a boiling pan.

Mind you, got to have something to keep you entertained out there I guess.

Yeah there isnít much to do in Singapore is there? Get it all done in about a day and a half. Much like Hong Kong.

Both obviously still far superior to Chennai though.
