    8pm? That isn't summer.

Sunset is after 10pm at the height of summer here and there's a good chunk of the year where it's dark but you don't get a proper night.

However, this is tempered by at the moment the sun is just creeping over the horizon at 9am and it's set by 4pm. Christmas is a bit of a **** because all the lights, drinking etc con you into forgetting how crap winter is. When you get to January and February and it's still cold, dark and miserable it is ****ing brutal.

All festivals happen at 30C where I am from regardless of the time of the year. Christmas chicken biryani at my bestie's house had been a tradition for me for a decade until recently. So it doesn't really matter if you prefer either as long as you have people to celebrate it with.

There must be someone willing to make a horror film that looks like it's about a poor single mother struggling at Christmas, but is actually about an evil undead santa.

Christmas = roasting and eating every domestic animal you can afford on the equator. Plus booze and gifts.

Christmas shopping must be easier in the southern hemisphere than the north. In the north, you wander around a city centre which is filled with people suffering the same fate, in low temperatures. Occasionally you'll go past someone sneezing and it reminds you of the inevitability of the flu which is to come. It's got to be better in warmer temperatures surely?
