an off-screen death in ix, i don't know what else they can do...overall i really liked it...don't know if it was better than tfa but it made as much sense as a star wars movie usually makes...one of the top star wars stories in my mind along with anh, tesb and tfa...spoilers below...

i thought rey and finn would end up together but now they are trying to keep us guessing with rose and poe with that greeting at the end that felt like more than a simple greeting, rey's parentage was also a very flat reveal...don't know what the point of dragging it out was if they were nobodies...i thought she was like anakin, created by the force...

Paid $30 to watch it this morning in IMAX and what the biggest waste of money it was. The Star Wars saga is dead to me now after what Disney has done.

The movie to me didn't do anything right and was long and boring with the Luke/Leia scenes and Rose/Finn scenes being the worst. I totally agree with the reviews I've read in the Australian media that it's the worst Star Wars movie of all time.

Can't sum it up any better than Mark Hamill himself on how Luke was portrayed in the movie:

Well I haven't seen it but it'd be a feat if it managed to be worse than TPM and AotC

I can honestly say its worse than both. I didn't think it could get any worse after the force awakens and noticed a slight improvement with rogue one but this movie is truly terrible.

If you follow Rotten Tomatoes at all, it already has the equal lowest ranking of any SW movie (tied with aotc) so it isn't just me.

That video is ridiculously edited. What tosh, pull your head in

He makes some great points in that video regardless of how edited it is.

I suppose fan-boys will never accept criticism of these movies.

There are many crap SW movies in the whole saga. I think people are romanticising the past if they think this is the worst one.

There’s plenty to criticise about it, but to act like that video conveys anything is ridiculous.

This is absolutely true. I didn't get the praise for TFA repeating the previous trilogy verbatim and thought it was a great decision to make Star Wars have a good look at itself in this one.

Star Wars fandom is just another thing that I don't really get I suppose

Empire is the only genuinely great one. The others all vary from trash (all 3 prequels) to ok (TFA) to merely good (New hope,RotJ).

Clearly, while this isn't anywhere near the best it is also nowhere near being the worst.

I would put it about fifth. Above TFA, below Rogue One (which I think is a much, much more interesting film than TFA, albeit also extremely sketchy at times). In that mixer with ROTJ and Sith in the "a flawed movie that sometimes pulls off interesting things and sometimes falls flat on its face".

I would also say that the gap between the New Hope/Empire bracket and the Rogue One/ROTJ/Sith/TLJ/TFA bracket is a lot smaller than people claim. Big gap to the other prequels, though.

How could I tell if he was making some great and serious points when half his answers are cut out?

It's like those parody movie ads which snip out one positive word from a negative review to pretend the review is positive. Except this is the height of analysis, apparently.
