BTC climbing and climbing with BTCC staying relatively stable after going berserk last week. I'll probably get some alt coins soon as well for some more short term gambles.

So what's the chance of my ~500usd on btc-e ever coming back to me?

I was so close to transferring to coinbase. fml.
BTC-e refunded 61% of it, with the other 39% in tokens that you can sell for roughly half of their crypto equivalents. Pretty decent.

I'm really surprised prices didn't tank after China banned ICOs followed by exchanges, and then only took a dip after Jamie Dimon took a big dump all over them.

I'm not sure what to do with my BTC balance before segwit2x. Hold, fiat or altcoins?

Blockchain itself is more interesting than the Cryptocurrencies it supports imo.

It is.... thing about cryptocurrency is it won't die like many economists predicted. In all probablility by 2020 most major reserve banks will have, at the very least, plans in place to issue their own cryptocurrency.

Governments and banks are already looking at using DLT. Singapore's central bank has adopted it for interbank currency exchanges. Have a look at what IBM and Stellar are doing. It's just that for the average investor, there's no real direct way to invest in the technology which is part of the reason why cryptocurrencies are so popular as an asset.

Without going down the root of trying to find the numerous times the bitcoin has been called a ponzi scheme, and or declaring its emminent death, I will just refer you to the wiki page, which gives some specific people and times you can look up.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Econom...cheme_concerns

I know wiki is not the best resource but it is a good place to start when wanting to chase something down.

Maybe I should not have used the word economists, because that would probably be more from an academic point of view and academics tend to hedge their bets when uncertain. And use the word financial 'experts' loosely...

Thanks. It is literally worthless tbf, as is all fiat money. But the constant "bitcoin is dead" articles are pretty funny.

I'm crying right now. Will probably wait till the fork before I get rid of everything. Grad trip settled.

@Cribb do you still have some from when you were using BTC to buy fags?
