Just like to clarify that as that was posted at 1am, tomorrow meant Tuesday.

Got myself under 25 mins for 5k yesterday.

Target was for the end of May, so very pleased with my progress.

Well, after going for long periods where I repeatedly got out of the habit of running, tried to get back into and failed, finally did my first 'official' 10k today - times not up yet, but think I did it on more or less an hour, which I'm pretty pleased with.

I have a 10K in a week and I'm going to be happy if I finish, I'm that out of practice.

Had to shift from running to cycling.

Was regularly doing 5k in about 25 minutes but it was leaving my shins in absolute agony. Just too high impact I guess.

Now cycle about 8 miles every day to and from work. Much less aggravation.

1:57 for the half marathon on Sunday.

Personal worst time, however a combination of injuries and illness since June have meant I struggled to get the miles in, particularly long runs.

I'm a bit disappointed as I missed the target I'd set myself at new year (I wanted a PB), however at the same time not only running a half marathon but running it in under 2 hours would have seemed a ridiculous notion this time last year.

1:57 is awesome, my personal best was 2:12:18 (no training/diet). But then I am unsure if you've trained specifically for this, still it's a good time.

I envy European nations for this. In the US here, most roads are massive freeways so cycling is not a sensible option. In India the cities are too congested for cycling except if you live in a village/town where it's good for cycling. I agree it's more fun than running.

I'm lucky as there is a cycle path through the countryside from the town I live in to the town I work in. Wouldn't use the road

Yeah, I'd cycle a lot but the busy roads are really off-putting. Not sure how people do it.

I'd have to be a lot more confident in my ability as a cyclist, and a lot more confident in the ability of the General public to not drive like complete dicks, in order to seriously consider it. Neither especially likely

Finished in 70 minutes, not bad considering the lack of conditioning.

I did, however I was hit by an injury in May/June time and flu/cold from the end of August, both of which severely hampered the number of miles I was able to do in training.

From missing long runs alone I reckon I was about 150-200 miles short in the training I'd wanted to do.

In other news, I wasn't successful in the London ballot. Hardly surprising seeing as the event just whores itself out to people who want to dress up like fannies and walk/jog the route in 7 hours.

Have signed up for my first half-marathon - not until next May, so plenty of time to get my fitness up
