Portugal v England

This is their squad:

Goalkeepers: James (Man City), Robinson (Leeds), Kirkland (Liverpool)

Defenders: P Neville (Man Utd), Mills (Leeds/Middlesbrough), Carragher (Liverpool), Bridge (Chelsea), A Cole (Arsenal), Terry (Chelsea), Campbell (Arsenal), Southgate (Middlesbrough)

Midfielders: Beckham (Real Madrid), Lampard (Chelsea), J Cole (Chelsea), Butt (Man Utd), Jenas (Newcastle), Scholes (Man Utd), Dyer (Newcastle), Hargreaves (Bayern Munich)

Strikers: Heskey (Liverpool), Rooney (Everton), Vassell (Aston Villa), Owen (Liverpool), Smith (Leeds)

Will somebody do tell me what is so great about Heskey? What does he do at international level.

Vassell? WTF?

Heskey's contribution to the team is far more than in the goals he scores - his strength and power worries defenders.

And what's wrong with Vassell - a good International record, and he's in form for Villa.

Lies, Heskey is patehtic, ive for a few years now held the view that he sucks, his supposed strength and power vansishes all too frequently and his contribution as as co-striker is non-too apparent, heh, mind you he has been improving slightly with Liverpool.

So how come a lot of defenders don't relish playing against him then, and how come Owen scores so many goals alongside him?

Much as I hate to say it, I'm starting to rate Heskey more and more.

I just wish he had more confidence to use his pace and power and strength and run at people.

I really couldn't care less about the result, anyway.

I think they should make Paul Robinson number 1. And I was surprised that Nigel Martyn didnt make the squad. He had a great game against Liverpool.

And was awful in the next one, mind, Robinson weren't much better. Neither were as bad as Walker..

I guess England hope Carlo Cudicini decides to play for England if he doesnt get picked for Italy for Euro 2004.

Listened to an interview with him yeasterday, looks like he needs more English lessons.

I hope Abramovich has considered English, Spanish or Italian lessons for his players.
