And smalishah's avatar is the most classy one by far Jan certainly echoes the sentiments of CW

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta

Wow. They must have substantial evidence to arrest them from Switzerland and send them to US.

On Dec. 12, 2014, the defendant Josť Hawilla, the owner and founder of the Traffic Group, the Brazilian sports marketing conglomerate, waived indictment and pleaded guilty to a four-count information charging him with racketeering conspiracy, wire fraud conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy and obstruction of justice. Hawilla also agreed to forfeit over $151 million, $25 million of which was paid at the time of his plea.

A few FIFA officials saying "It is a sad day for football", ignoring that pretty much everyone else thinks it is a ****ing great day for football!

Top officials of FIFA undergoing trial in US after having been arrested and extradited from Switzerland avoids attention? Nah. It may be them trying to save their hides, but not avoiding attention.

My only contribution to the thread, this gem from twitter:

From what I understand from the news, Americans are no longer content to simply mock soccer and are now arresting everyone responsible.

A relief to see that good old Sepp is in the clear, after all what can he be expected to have been aware of after the best part of 20 years in charge?

If Blatter survives this, is this the biggest chance to get rid of him missed, or is the start of a wall crumbling?

I'm sure the timing of the arrests to occur just before the vote wasn't coincidental, but Sepp is coated with Teflon.

I can't see how any president who's been at the very best (to take the charitable, non-legally actionable view) unaware of pandemic corruption that's gone on throughout his reign can survive, but after Qatar nothing FIFA ever does will surprise me again.
