I am asking the value of sin30, and not sin30°.

7. I am not that good in Trignomentry and forgot whatever little i knew.

My maths is rusty, but I was under the impression that sin, cos, tan, cot, sec & csc were always functions of angles.

Could be radians as well? In which case my calculator gives it as -0.98803...

He would have to state radians though. I'm with Neil on this one. I thought that sin30 implies degrees.

13. Trig, algebra etc. is all useless maths to most people.

Er, yes, but the sine of it is different...as 30 radians converts into 30 * 180 / 2pi degrees
