    My maths is rusty, but I was under the impression that sin, cos, tan, cot, sec & csc were always functions of angles.

    He would have to state radians though. I'm with Neil on this one. I thought that sin30 implies degrees.

    Er, yes, but the sine of it is different...as 30 radians converts into 30 * 180 / 2pi degrees
