That video with the kid is horrendous. I mean, for real, getting that close to a fertiliser factory which is on fire? I thought it was common knowledge that most fertilisers contain ammonium nitrate which is the AN in the phrase 'ANFO bomb' but obviously not. You'd think someone in Texas would know, though.....

you'd also think a fertiliser factory wouldn't really be so close to, you know, a nursing home and ****

From the video, they look far enough away so that I could understand them thinking it was safe.

Yeah, I hate to be too hard on the guy, especially if he now has a deaf kid. But yeah, if I knew it was a fertiliser factory (and, considering their history, I'd usually back someone in Texas to be more aware than most), I'd not be within sighting distance of it. It's literally the choice of bomb for Dr Terry Wrist and with good reason.

West, TX Fertilizer Plant Explosion 4/17/2013 (Pt. 1) - YouTube

well here are some people who had no idea there was a fertilizer plant nearby

fist confirmed deaths:

"That's a really rough number, I'm getting that figure from firefighters, we don't know yet," Dr Smith told CNN. "We have two EMS personnel that are dead for sure, and there may be three firefighters that are dead."

Reminds me of the drama on Channel 4 a few months back with Gabriel Byrne.

Shocking week for America. Hope the "Always happens in 3's" thing is rubbish.
