720 is a different story though... i wouldnt put it past MS, but if they go through with banning used games theyll have shot themselves in the foot, when Sony have already said they wont.

The hardware won't block used games but they might tie it to the PSN id and require an activation code just like you do for multiplayer where a $10 online code is required for online play for a used game.

A sony exec said pretty clearly that ps4 will play used games, so its pretty clear cut as of now.

If you observe Sony exec's language, they are clearly evading the question whether you can play used games for free. The only thing they have cleared up is that the hardware will not block used games outright. Other than that, they are clearly hesitant to be forthright about it and are using ambiguous language. Check out Denny's answer "We'll do the right thing"

They are waiting for Microsoft to make the first move before showing the cards

Getting upset about this whole thing is to miss the point, there simply won't be such a thing as a "used game" in a few years time.
