New Zealanders...

How are South African's looked upon in your country wrt university applications - would you say it's unlikely thàt a saffer would make it in or does the system welcome us much like I know the aussie school system does.

You'll be fine if you have the grades and the money. I have about 2 million South Africans in my class.

They are domestic students though.

They're generally disliked, from what I gather. Which makes NZ one of the more SA tolerant countries out there.

Looked upon the same as most others AFAIK. If you can pay you can study.

Yep - you'll have to pay full international tuition fees as a South African at an NZ university, but the NZ universities would falling over each other to accept you as a student. Guaranteed. Then, if you progress to Postgraduate studies, you'd only have to pay domestic tuition fees for a PhD - which is about the best deal you can hope to find world-wide as an international student.

Not necessarily, and I think there's some "NZ Aid" scheme which assists foreigners in studying in New Zealand. I don't know all the details though.
