    Favorite Film of the Week

In keeping with the highly successful 'Favourite Song of the Week Thread', I thought it'd be interesting to incorporate another art form which is very close to my heart, films and movies.

So here is the thread, what is your Favourite Film(s) of the Week?

    Mine for this week:

The Insider - Russell Crowe, Al Pacino

Truly a brilliant film, I only saw it just recently. Russell is a fine, fine actor.

    John Cusack
    Gene Hackman
    Jennifer Beals

Exceptional movie. Definitely worth a look.

I should have kept my mouth shut for the next ball - mind you, it was a length ball - Lara just pulled it over the church beyond the boundary! He is a true legend."

Totally agree! The most entertaining movie I've seen in a very long time. Near perfect.

Got a panning from Germaine Greer on Newsnight.

Will apparently dissuade kids from eating fish.

Germaine Greer talks a load of the proverbial. I should add that it isn't just the graphics, it is just a brilliant film with character and the voices.

I watched 'Cool Hand Luke' the other night (again).

    Starring Paul Newman, George Kennedy.

Still a fabulous film - even though I've probably watched it 50 times.

Yea City of God is pretty intense.

I also liked American History X.

They arent films I can watch over and over again though.

I want to see About a Boy. I read the book while I was in London. And I read Fever Pitch. I was feeling very interested in Islington... (I lived there). I would get excited when the characters would walk down Upper ST and Holloway Rd, just like I was everyday... ahh....

    Tonight's presentation :

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

    I love that film.

Some fabulous quotes (most far too obscene for the naughty word filter) but here's a clean one (and a tip next time you have a hotel room with a mini-bar)

Bernadette: Gather 'round girls. I'll show you a trick. First, you drink the Gin and replace it with water and put it back on the fridge.
Mitzi: Oh! Clever girl! And the scotch?
Bernadette: Aha! That's where the complimentary tea bags come in handy

If you've seen the film, you'll know why the quote is in pink.
