Hey all, interested in the opinion of people from outside of Australia on Australia. What do you think when you think of Australia?

Be interesting to do this for other countries as well....

They are our big brother country. So typically I have a grudging attitude to Australia. Peeps from Aussie are nice unless they are in their whites on a cricket field and then it is a caustic world war three atmosphere.
Australians in general are a bit more outgoing than us - and more confident I find.
When I was in North America I found that NZers and Canadians got on famously and US peeps and Aussies got on famously.
When I was growing up we heard stories that Aussie girls would say yes if asked - and that the guys would have no hesitation in saying how about it. I doubt it is like that - but as a 13 year old I found it all very convincing.
well it probably was like that in the 60's
Hot chicks.
Never been to Australia :)
Flat country filled by big desert with some woods at the eastern coast. Five or six big cities. The big coral thing.
Outside Australia they are surely nice. Very sporty fellows and great beer fans. Hard to make friends with due to their nomadic habits. No sense of decency as being half-naked seems to be their natural state. Less gingers in population compared to UK.
Penal colony where white yokels did bad thing to locals which combined with abundant resources and nice weather lead to establishing a rich country down under.
Before going to Australia, I always thought I would love the place and dislike the people. The images of places like Sydney at New Years and the outback are always stunning, and certainly some Aussies overseas give the people a bad name.
Having now been there a good number of times, I now feel the opposite is closer to reality. Most of the people I've met there and had cause to chat with have been bloody good people, but the reality of some of the places is actually pretty **** compared to the imagery you're bombarded with of Australia as a kid. Sydney is horrible IMO. There are some great places to find, but I think you have to dig a bit deeper than the superficial imagery.
Meh, I meant to quote Heath's post.
