@Uppercut - Yeah I've met a few racist Aussies - and have done so more frequently than with people from other countries. But I hate to tar the rest of the country with the actions of a few idiots. I have had team mates from Aussie and they were well educated, forward thinking, genuine individuals and would prefer to think about those fellows.

All this said I would not feel comfortable living in Australia and perceive NZ and Canada as being more tolerant.

All these people who bag Australia, you need to know how hard it is living here, ok?

It's warm, there's lots of beaches, the beer is cold and we're well off compared with most of the rest of the world. It's very, very difficult I tell you. Sure, in other countries you complain about abject poverty, drone strikes or forms of oppression; while we whinge about mediocre 3G coverage, slow internet speeds and whether we should take superannuation to 13% or 15%. But you really don't know how hard it is here, truly.
I agree. When we talk about there being too many refugees here, we're including ourselves.

Melbourne's not that bad people wise. A bit too Indie Hipster these days but the people I know are pretty alright. Sydney turned into Wankerville from when I moved there to when I went back but even then most people when you scratch the surface are okay.
