Had Pixies at 4, just the most entertaining band I am ever likely to listen to.

Beach Boys at 10 which is strange one because I have never actually bothered to buy anything other than Pet Sounds so was reluctant to put them that high but that album is just so immaculate that I couldn't ignore them.

Had Doors somewhere around the 20th mark, would have been way higher about 6 or 7 years ago.

None ot the others especially close although used to love RHCP and like the Who well enough, always half meant to get into Pearl Jam but can just never be bothered.

    Had:

    Pearl Jam (#10)
    Muse (#14)
    RHCP (#16)
    Metallica (#25)

    For the others:

Pixies - I should really like them, but for whatever reason I haven't warmed to them as much as other bands.
Stone Roses - only know the one song, though it's a gun song.
Foo Fighters - probably didn't vote due to their recent crap, but given I voted RHCP they should've been there too.
The Beach Boys - not very high on 60's pop unfortunately, sounds way too slight for my tastes.
The Doors - I haven't listened to them before I made my list.
The Who - probably an oversight, and I haven't listened to them as much as I have with other bands.
    5-0

You can't write that about the band that wrote Pet Sounds, can you?

    Muse just missed my list.

    Had the Foos and RHCP.
RHCP probably a bit high in all honesty, on my list.

I got the two I did the write-ups for, so add the two from the last lot, and then the other three I wrote up must be still to come plus the Beatles so I'll end up with 8 - given that the 25 I picked are the best of all time it just makes me think

I'm trying to gauge what's popular with yoof, by listening to Kerrang! At the moment Alien Ant Farm are playing, it again doesn't augur well.

The Smiths are playing now though.

Jam, Oasis, Muse, Foos all been played, and they just played the Pixies, and it wasn't Debaser. The station seems to have the finger on CWs pulse.

Fantastic write-ups, really enjoying the exercise and don't regret not writing at all considering the quality of writing.

Had The Who, Pearl Jam and the Beach Boys out of these in my list.

    Overall I've had,

    12. Pearl Jam
    15. The Pogues
    16. The Who
    18. The Beach Boys
    21. Black Sabbath
    25. Simon and Garfunkel

Pixies, a major oversight on my part, would probs have made it in the early twenties.

Only one I had here was Metallica. And I facepalmed repeatedly as I read the thread as a result. There's no way I should've left off the Stone Roses and I really could've found room for the Pixes and Pearl Jam.

Had The Stone Roses at 8 & Pixies at 16 from this tranche.

The Who, Pearl Jam and The Doors made my original "long list", but were cut before things got really difficult.

Own albums by all ten tho, so none I actively dislike there.

"Of all their efforts, my favourite song has to be Everlong. Everything about the song is pure awesome."

Have you heard Dave Grohl's acoustic rendition of it on Howard Stern? Just him and the guitar - absolute magic.

Haha, had a massive brain fart with Pearl Jam. Probably would've had them about 16-18.

Had Metallica at #10 and The Doors at #17. Great write-ups once again.
