Also, my advice would be to consult all the guides about room sizes and viewing distances to arrive at your ideal size for the TV, and then purchase the next biggest size. You won't regret it.

I've got an LED TV that I'm a big fan of, but my girlfriend's got the same model in LCD and I've never really noticed a difference, other than the LCD model being about 150-200 cheaper.
I actually bought and paid for the LCD model, and I only ended up with the better model as they made a mistake on their end and ended up giving me the LED one. I didn't realise until I was at home and noticed that it was a lot thinner than my girlfriend's.

Ended up with a 24" LED - it aint the biggest but it'll serve it's purpose - managed to convince mrs ripper it was worthwhile shelling out the extra $60 or so for the energy saving factor/better picture etc.
