I don't think anyone really cares if it is in the rulebook mate.

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta

So the soldier has been flown out to Kuwait.

@ SS, how would you feel if the families of the victims are given US nationality and a couple of million $ each?

I don't have an opinion about it one way or the other. A couple of million each is too much though.

That's what happened in the Raymond Davis case.

As I said, I don't have an opinion one way or another on the practice except that a couple million is too much. I wouldn't mind if they didn't do those things, and I don't mind if they do.

I wouldn't give them us nationality though. What's the point of that? I definitely would to all the translators who work with us and their families considering how much danger they are in.

I know that was addressed to SS, but I might answer too if I may. Personally I'd see that as a little bit of a pay-off to the victims, not that they don't deserve it and it would obviously totally be their choice.

I just don't see a cash hand-out and offer of something you wouldn't have received otherwise as a suitable replacement for a crime being carried out on your family.

I guess in this case the soldier is still going to be punished anyway, so it'd be totally dependent on how the family feels. While I was in Korea a western girl was raped in this city I lived in, and the perpetrator's family tried to pay her off to the tune of $30,000 to make the issue go away. Thought that particular case was despicable to be honest, but as I said, I realise the soldier won't be getting off in this case.

I only asked because that is exactly what happened with the Raymond Davis incident.
