    George Bush visits England...

So what do you think? I hope he appreciates all the regalia and stuff put on for him, because he sure as hell will get whisked away from all the protesters pretty sharpish...

I hope the UK (or any other nation) never gets lead around like a puppet on a string into going into engagements its people don't agree with... Iraq has been a costly lesson....

With all that Bill Clinton did for Northern Ireland, its a disgrace he didnt get awarded a state visit...

If any of you are protesting on thursday, I will be with you in spirit!!

    Opinions please...

I will be there - I urge anyone even close to London to get down and join us - we meet in Malet Street at 2pm and march to Trafalgar Square.

I did my bit during the Vietnam war.

I'll leave it to the younger generation this time - but my thoughts will definitely be with you.

You are such a leftist Kim:P

If you can back your statements up, go right ahead. However, getting rid of Saddam was the right thing to do.

Good ridence and to his sons.

But has he gone is the real question?

Well, that makes it all better, then.

I said at the time "Why him? Why now?". It was a post-9/11 kneejerk reaction. If you cannot get the bad guy you want, get the one you can. Remember that this war was (supposedly) about WMD (the ones developed with the teqhnology and materials that the US sold to Iraq in the first place).

Where are they? I suppose if they could have been fired in 45 minutes they could have been spirited away in the same amount of time.

I spit on George Bush and his mindless puppet Tony Blair.

Well I did notice both England and America changing their tune when they couldn't find any WMDs to it being important Saddam was out of power. Yes maybe it is good that he is out of power, but to start a war under the pretence that we are all in danger from WMDs and then not finding any, you must face the consequences of an un-just war.

    1) Living standards in Iraq are now worse than "pre-liberty"
    2) By your logic we should invade several other countries now
    3) Israel

Now this is a really great thread. Thanks Langeveldt.

I never wanted Bush to be the president. See what he has done with Pakistan.

U.K. is his biggest ally(whatever.). And if here only are so many protests, imagine if he goes to some other countries.

It was quite interesting the other day that the USA suggested that they would be handing over power (and presumably scaling down their operations) in just 6 months time.

I should have thought that the oil would have lasted a little longer than that.

So Saddam has gone, Good.. We all wanted that...

But how many innocents? Thats what they gloss over when they talk about the war being a "success".. Its sick the way they go about their international affairs.... (Bush+Blair)...
