Which job is more important to the English people?
The news is chocker full of Fabio, Arry and little else. Honestly, it reminds me very much of when Cameron took over from Brown in terms of media coverage. And it's got me thinking. I've read it said on this forum that in Australia, Michael Clarke has the 2nd most important job (vic_orthdox's role as CW top mod obviously being first).
Hand on heart, are the people of England more interested in the England manager's job than the role of PM? Both politicians and the England team have inspired apathy anyway in recent years, but what do people consider to be the most important job?

The England football manager's job is to become a media scapegoat after the World Cup. It's barely important even within the confines of the sport.

PM's decisions can affect a lifetime.
EM's don't even register in 90 minutes Clearly PM for me. However you are talking to an educated bunch here, so we're probably out of sync with Joe Public.

People talk about the Australian cricket captain vs Prime Minister, and I think it's slightly different because he's a player at the same time. Because the manager isn't on the field, can't do it for the players, it doesn't get the deferential treatment that you can get when you are "the man" on the field.

Last time there was a WC in Brazil, Mike Basset got England to the Semis.
Think about it.
