Yes, I would imagine as part of their medical education they would be taught the importance of regular exercise.

This brings me to my next point:

Tortoises have been known to live past 150 years, yet the oldest human has gotten nowhere near that.

Why is it that humans fail to reach a similar age considering we have far greater advancements in technology than what exists in the tortoise world? Is their life so stress and danger free that they can live this long without fear of death?

Should we be farming tortoises for body parts??

Tortoises are chilled though. You get up to the Reptile Park and see that Galapagos ****er. Cool as a cucumber even with a hundred kids running around everywhere.

If people could stay that chilled surrounded by kids, we'd live that long too.

So you're saying if we get rid of all kids we can further the development of mankind and last longer as a society?

Surely if we immunise these monkeys against common illnesses as well as educating them on how to keep out of the way of grizzly bears etc, they could live to 75 as well.
The way research works, we've cured faaaar more diseases in rats than in humans. We can make rats live for much longer than natural, make them faster, give more endurance, immunity to many chronic diseases, significantly adjust behavior and intelligence,, and we can cure almost everything, like cancer. Unfortunately (and fortunately) we can't experiment on humans like we can on mice so we can do a lot less.

Monkeys are very expensive but I'd venture to say you're right about the normal lifespans of monkeys (depending on the particular species). If not quite as long as us, still pretty long I'd think.

Nah ****, I'm saying if we all had shells on our backs and ate lettuce in a cool manner when surrounded by kids, we'd be better off.

    Come on, man. Ffs.

Actually what made me dig it was because I was having a discussion earlier today on this topic... well it was specifically about the turtle situation.
