Favourite National Anthem

What are some of the National Anthems that you like?

For me,

God Save the Queen

Although I do like Land of Hope and Glory.

Pak Sar Zameen

Star Spangled Banner

Deutschland Lied

If any country adopted "Final Countdown" as their national anthem, I'd switch allegiance in a heartbeat.

Most are poor, God Save the Queen is one of the worst. You'd think the least they can do with our national anthem, even if you can't get a nice piece of music, would be to make it at least vaguely to do with Britain. But I digress.

The French have a notable exception.

I was hopeful for the Spanish national anthem when I found it had no words (thus bypassing the standard issue theocratic/royalty-loving/warmongering direness), but later found it's quite a dull tune.

The Liechtenstein one is great. It's played the tune of God Save the Queen but with different words.

Japan:

National anthem of Japan - YouTube

So simple, yet beautiful.

Translation of lyrics:

"May your reign last for a thousand, eight thousand generations. Until the pebbles grow into boulders, lush with moss."

I like the tune for the French Anthem, but the lyrics are really bad.
