Vale Arthur Beetson

Died of a heart attack today.

Probably the most skillful forward we've had, and the first aboriginal to captain Australia in any sport.

Also a Rugby League immortal.

Though apparently not

RIP big fella, very sad, though not entirely surprising. Had big bags beneath his eyes for years. Incredible player though, an inspiration to those northerners and respected by all RL lovers. One of the greatest the game has ever seen.

RIP Artie, did a lot of good things for rugby league.

Unfortunately those of us in the north now have to put up with hearing the words 'Great QLDer" 100 times in the next few days. However, I suppose now is not the time to think about personal hardships.

RIP. Proper player. Scored one of the tries in the 1972 world cup final.

Still the last time GB/England have won any series or tournament featuring the Roos. Sigh.
