Lockheed Martin completes first UK F-35
Excellent News this. The UK is finally going to get these toys. Of course they are not as good as the F-22 but stealth is stealth.

We are gettnig these things too and they are a complete bloody waste of money. We can't get access to the source codes as the Americans keep it within their purview, they are of limited range, and are nothing on the fighters the Indonesians have.
They should, however, be able to see off New Zealand.

The Indonesians, who because of their size and proximity are realistically the only strategic threat to Australia, are armed with either the latest MIGs or Sukhois, which are apparently comparable to the F22 Raptor, itself a far superior platform to the F35.
By strategic threat, I don't mean they have any intentions, rather that's where the ADF see any potential threat coming from - the north (basically because there's bugger all to the south and west, and the Kiwis are feisty but friendly

The fight is over for the Su-30 or the F-16 before it even begins. The F-35 will blast them out of the sky before they can even detect it. |

Fair to say these guys aren't fans of the JSF.
RAAF vs F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter I met Carlo and Peter a few years ago, feisty couple of blokes. Liked them a lot, though.

Why would you need either? For the type of wars and conflicts that occur in the foreseeable future, it doesn't much matter what generation of fighter planes you have.

Really? Russian technology has kept up with the Americans all these years?
