    In terms of looks, I still can't go past the old Spitfires. They were just the most beautiful looking aircraft.

    Haven't got time or inclination to read all that article tc, but its a surprise they say night time flying is banned at Elgin - one of the UKs F35Bs has been doing nighttime take off and landings off USS Wasp - there is video floating around the MOD posted

    Yeah, I posted the link to the USS Wasp landing earlier. The article doesn't specifically say night landing is verboten, just that it has restrictions on flying IMC and you'd usually fly IFR at night. In theory, it could do a night VFR landing and be legal because if the thing can fly on clear days, it can fly on clear nights you'd think.
