@ Australians

In another forum where I spam, somebody began a discussion on some Australian food product called "vegemites" and all the Australians considered it to be the best food item made after bread while the non australians who have tasted it found it quite disgusting... What exactly is this thing?

Bear in mind that all I know about it is that it isn't a blend between vegetables and termites.

It's not as good as Marmite.

Which is a spread made of crushed Marmosets and Termites.

Ah well in the UK we have marmite which is a black gooey yeast extract i think... Its great if not spread too thick, absolutely divine on toast, but even the producers say that "you either love it or hate it" i love it...

In Australia they have similar stuff called Vegimite, i was addicted to this when I was there, although I have forgotton what it tasted like, so couldnt say which is best

Ever since I saw a lad eat a whole tub of pure Marmite all at once then proceed to spew up, I haven't been able to bring myself to eat the stuff.

We have vegemite. And NZ style marmite (completely different from english marmite).

I love english marmite. I buy it here, its labelled "our mate" here. they cant call it marmite.

I dont eat vegemite, or any other kraft products for that matter. Kraft is owned by Philip Morris the tobacco company. I boycott. Toblerone too.

Really? And here I was thinking that that was just a big media-driven stereotype.

I love marmite, I've never really found an amazing difference with Vegemite other than the fact my grandparents have it. Marmite has a better name anyway :P
