This is nothing to do with the royals specifically, it's just a legal issue over coverage. The BBC, like any other media has its fair share of satire and has no problem mocking the royals.

    Heaps of people are.

I think many of the criticisms of the Royals are fair, but to say people don't care about the wedding is point blank inaccurate. The enormous amount of coverage and analysis would not occur if there was little interest.

Harry would most likely become the next Duke of York, after the current one (prince Andrew) kicks the bucket.

Who gets to succeed the big-eared dude who gives away the Wimbledon trophy?

Have been seeing him do it for 20 years, will miss him.

..i dont care about it,and to be honest, neither do most of my girlfriends...so apart from the dress...nothing much interests us about it...there is far too much hype on the tv,and so much crap analysis, that many people have just switched off to the whole thing...the Americans seem to be going OTT about the whole thing..and the BBC will be telling us next at what time William gets up to pee...enough already!
And once the storm is over you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure,in fact, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm you won’t be the same person who walked in. Haruki Murakami .

Right, but what's he actually do? I understand the King/Queen has ceremonial functions - so it's an actual job, but what does the job of the Duke of York entail?

I don't like the hype, but TV ratings will tell the story. I bet it suggests that there is strong interest, as disappointing as that is.
