Isnít it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too? Ė Douglas Adams

You're using a 2011, very very souped-up, prettified version of dos, basically. Really good and really really easy if you know what you're doing, ****ing confusing if you don't because it's so different.

Installing Ubuntu on an existing Windows machine (without getting rid of Windows) is quite easy. There's a program called Wubi that does it without any pain at all and you can choose which one you want when you boot. I remember there was a time when you had to mess around with disk partitions and stuff, but this Wubi thingy seems to handle everything by itself. I almost never boot Windows these days, the thing takes eons to boot compared to Ubuntu.

Same (30 second boot up times, 5 second shut down times are just lol)... except my Ubuntu installation on my main computer has gone completely ****ing bonkers and I have completely no idea why. Irritating.

But he wants to do the opposite, btw :P

    ---

Benchy, does some menu pop up before you get into Ubuntu asking you to select something? Might be called GRUB or summat.

    Don't think so.

Have only turned my computer on once since I installed it. Just said to enter a password etc.
