    Been quite a year tbh:

    Best Movie: Inception (I saw it in 2010, not sure if it was an 09 release)
    Worst Movie: Not sure.
    Best Book: The New Machievelli - Jonathon Powell
    Worst Book: Thought the second of the Millenium Trilogy was slow as.
    Best Song: Haven't Met You Yet - Michael Buble;
    Worst Song: Time of My Life - Blackeyed Peas. My ears bled;
    Best Artist: Mackenzie Thorpe (ok he's a visual artist, but so what?);
    Worst Artist: Ke$ha;
    Best Moment: 14 May, about 12.30 - 1.00 pm;
    Worst Moment: a tie between 19 May, about 3.00 pm and 5 December about 2.50 pm;
    Best News story: Labor winning the federal election;
    Worst News story: Haiti. Also found the WA police misuse of tasers appalling.

    And even joking that GIMH > Pasag is dire. Smarten up ffs.

    Best movie: Inception
    Worst movie: Avatar
    Best book: Christopher Brookmyre's Pandaemonium
    Worst book: Can't think of any off the top of my head. Haven't had much time for casual reading this year.
    Best song: Loads of contenders for this. I'll go with The Naked and Famous' Girls Like You. Awesome song, with such feeling and magnificent bitterness. Also fits well with some of my experiences this year.
    Worst song: As Burgey said, Black Eyed Peas' Time of my Life.
    Best artist: The Naked and Famous
    Worst artist: Ke$ha
    Best moment: Probably the amazing win by my favourite racehorse, Katie Lee, at Hastings in early October.
    Worst moment: January 30
    Best news story: Chile miners. Honourable mention to the lost guys from Tokelau being found.
    Worst news story: Haiti. Honourable mention to NZ miners.

    Hmm, I have not seen any of the movies listed, heard any of the songs or read any of the books. I did hear something mentioned about Haiti though.

    Best Film: Inception
    Worst Film: Avatar (found it bland, formulaic and, what's worse, a total CGI-fest - didn't appeal at all)
    Best Book: "Shadow Wave" by Robert Muchamore
    Worst Book : None, haven't read any books this year that I didn't enjoy
    Best Song: Percussion Gun by White Rabbits (shame about the rest of the album)
    Worst Song: Far far too many to mention, but I reserve a special level of rage and disgust for the X Factor cover version of "Heroes". It should be criminalised.
    Best Artist: The Fall (the new album really is sensationally good)
    Worst Artist: Again, far far too many to mention - maybe Mumford and Sons if I had to pick one out - but it could be plenty of others.
    Best Moment: Finding out my GCSE results, and seeing that I'd done really well. England winning the World Twenty20 and the Adelaide Test.
    Worst Moment: My Grandad dying on August 27th. Sent me right back into depression, felt wretched for weeks after that - the guy was a genuine friend as well as a relative.
    Best News Story: The Chilean Miners survival.
    Worst News Story: The New Zealand Miners.
    My Supporting XI: V Sehwag, T Iqbal, S Katich (c), K Sangakkara, S Chanderpaul, E Morgan, S Al Hasan, M Rahim (+), G Swann, D Steyn, Z Khan
