    Avril Lavigne

I know a lot of people have rubbished her in the past, and in some cases probably rightly so. But for those of you who have i suggest you have a listen to the version she has done of Knocking on Heavens door. Its absolutely brilliant. You can download it from a few places of course. But she will also have a live album coming out by november which apparently have that on it. If you get the chance to listen to im sure you will enjoy it.

From the live performances that I've heard and seen of her, she has an extremely mediocre voice IMO.
Sreesanth said, "Next ball he was beaten and I said, 'is this the King Charles Lara? Who is this impostor, moving around nervously? I should have kept my mouth shut for the next ball - mind you, it was a length ball - Lara just pulled it over the church beyond the boundary! He is a true legend."

well duhhh, thats because they mix her in the studio.
How do you think average, manufactured pop singers like Britney Spears sound so good on a cd, and then awful on a stage?

I'd have to say that a Live CD of Avril will definately not be topping the charts, and if it does it won't be for long once people realise how poor she is without the help of a studio team.

Then you could say that for most singers.
Beware the lollipop of mediocrity. Lick once and you suck forever...

thats true..but there are still quite a few who have fantastic singing voices..but generally most pop singers get mixed heavily.

Although in general I don't approve of Christina Aguilera, she has a fantastic voice.

    Jessica Simpson is absolutely horrible.

for the majority avril does sound ordinary live, but i heard her do a very good version of Im With You live a few weeks back, which is a very hard song to sing.
But anyway her version of Knocking on heavens door will be worth the trip to the CD store to have a listen if you get the chance.

Who fooled you? That's not at all a hard song to sing. It doesn't challenge the vocal range at all.

It is a hard song to sing, have you listened the song and the notes? when you compare that to the rest of the tracks on her album its very different. Its a lot more emotional and about the lyrics, rather than trying to get out a good sound.

So you're saying that it's a hard song compared to the other songs on the album? Sorry 'bout that. It's just that the other songs are challenging either, so that shouldn't hard. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice song and I actually like it, but it's not a hard song to sing at all. It doesn't require her to stretch her voice by going low or high. The song is basically at one pitch.
