i'm pretty sure there's no reason to live in Oklahoma

well i guess the native americans have a reason
Indians can't bowl - Where has the rumour come from as I myself and many indian friends arwe competent fast bowlers ?

With the English bid I said: Let us be brief. If you give back the Falkland Islands, which belong to us, you will get my vote. They then became sad and left

Nothing particularly novel about this, we've had people convicted for similar things over here. I don't think he should end up with 20 years in jail, and doubt he will anyway, but he only has himself to blame for landing himself in this mess.

That site also (fairly deliberately, I imagine) fails to mention what it was that he said, exactly:

"[Expletive] a Boston bomb, wait till you see the [Expletive] I do"
It's not hard to see why the security and police services have come down on this like a tonne of bricks.

It's also not made clear what exactly he has been charged with. "Terrorism offences" are mentioned everywhere, but it's not made clear what is meant by this. I suspect that the maximum length he could get in jail, if convicted, will indeed be 20 years, but there's no way he's looking at that kind of sentence for what he did. Unless some evidence is found that shows he actually was considering blowing something up etc...

A fairly interesting (if long) read. Common theme is that while younger generations may not be hugely enamoured with Obama's policies, they at least recognise that he acknowledges that problems exist and is having a crack at fixing them while the GOP is not. Obviously this is a pretty slanted take on things but it matches pretty well with what most people are seeing more broadly.

    Indeed, he's a problem solver.

This PRISM story is making no sense. Journos say the companies are involved, the admin isn't exactly denying anything and the companies are putting up the "what? not me!" act. Someone's selling us a few here.

They don't know how to respond yet, is my guess. Greenwald's been banging on about this for years.

They'd commissioned the creation of facilities designed to process massive, massive amounts of data, data that they officially didn't have. So everyone sort of knew what was going on all along, they just couldn't quite pinpoint it.

It's the secrecy that makes it a scandal. There's an argument to be won on privacy and I think they could appeal to the fears of the population enough to convince them that this kind of data collection is necessary. What they can't do is claim that citizens only need privacy if they're doing something wrong but the state needs privacy for reasons too important for anyone to actually know.
